For your parents

Help with Mum or Dad's medicines.

Keep their medicines in a separate profile. Manage it on your phone, or follow the record they choose to share from theirs.

Two ways to set it up

Whose phone will you use?

  • Their profile, on your phone

For when you give or organise their doses. You get the reminders. Adding a profile is part of Pillbo Pro.

  • Their phone, shared with you

For a parent who manages their own medicines. They get the reminders; you follow along. They need Pillbo Pro to share.

Friends

Care for a parent together.

Invite the people helping with one routine. Each person gets access only to the profile you share.

  1. Invite

Your parent, or you on their behalf, sends each friend their own invite link.

  2. Follow

Friends see today’s doses and the weekly record, and can send a nudge.

  3. Stop anytime

Remove one friend or everyone. Nothing is deleted from your parent’s phone.

What you’ll see

Look back over the week.

A weekly dose record in Pillbo.

One record everyone shares

Doses taken, skipped or missed, day by day. Check what has been logged before giving a dose. Shared updates need an internet connection.

An iPhone lock screen with a Pillbo notification: Mum’s Metformin is 2 hours late.

Know when a dose is late

Choose how late counts for each profile, from 30 minutes to 7.5 hours. Pillbo notifies you then, and again if the dose is missed. An alarm can ring too, even on Silent, when you turn it on.

An iPhone lock screen with a Pillbo notification: A gentle reminder. Dan is checking in on you.

Send a reminder

A nudge arrives on their phone as a notification saying you are checking in. It does not name the medicine. Delivery depends on the device and its notification settings.

Sometimes an app isn’t the right tool, and a pharmacy dose pack or a paper chart works better. Our guide to keeping track of a parent’s medicines covers the options, including eligibility for a government-funded Home Medicines Review.

Pillbo does not give medical advice. For questions about a medicine, talk to their doctor or pharmacist. Learn more about Pillbo as a medication reminder app.

Does my parent need an account?

Not to use Pillbo on their own phone. They only need one to share their profile with you, and you need one to accept it. Accepting a shared profile is free.

Can my brother and I both follow Mum’s medicines?

Yes. She can invite each of you separately, and stop sharing with either of you at any time.

Will I be alerted if someone I care for misses a dose?

Yes. Reminders are set per profile, so you can turn on alerts on your phone for anyone you look after. Pillbo notifies you when a dose is late, from 30 minutes to 7.5 hours after it was due, and again if it's missed. You can also set an alarm that rings, even on Silent, when their dose is late. Delivery depends on your device and its notification settings.

My parent doesn’t use a smartphone. Can Pillbo still help?

Yes, if you give or organise their doses yourself: keep their medicines in a profile on your own phone. If nobody has a phone at hand, a printed chart or a pharmacy-packed dose pack may suit better.
